MovingForward Bonus Session

Posted March 25, 2021

After we started our new MovingForward program with the support of viaSport and the Province of BC, we decided to create another week of new guest-speakers who will share their personal stories with you, as current and previous professional women racing the track, representing Canada in the Paralympics + Olympics, their leadership role in sports and in life, in general, is sure to inspire! Registration for the free talks here to receive the Zoom link for bonus speakers.

The BVC MovingForward program has been designed to promote mentorship and learning opportunities for the women in our cycling community so that they may continue the legacy of others and be better equipped in “moving forward” and leading.

Women’s track cycling has created a great endowment for Canada on the world stage. Using the Burnaby Velodrome as our community backdrop we will bring together some great leaders from our amazing cycling family to share stories about their journey. This project sets out to inspire women to take up leadership roles in cycling as maybe mentors, coaches, commissaries and much more.

The BVC recognizes that this is a wonderful time to be taking up leadership roles in cycling by learning more about what Kate, Annie + Gina have to share about their professional life in cycling. To keep growing, we want to keep learning and this is a good way to get motivated.

This bonus session of amazing women will bring the MovingForward program a nice closing. The value is PRICELESS. Register here

We will kick it off with Kate O’Brien today on March 23rd, at 6:00 PM PT, Annie Foreman-Mackey on March 25th, at 6:00 PM PT + Gina Grain on March 30th, at 5:30 PM PT.

The program will be moderated by Solveig Stoebe – local creative communication designer, cycling adventurer, NCCP Community coach, Steph Roorda – pro rider, national team member, and Laura Brown, a former National team rider of 10 years, Olympic track medalist, and NCCP level 3 certified coach.

This is the first time that the BVC has been able to offer this kind of program for our community. We are very honored to have been able to offer this Bonus session.

Please feel free to share this program with anyone you think may be interested. Registration for the free talks here

Hope to see you all during the talks,
Solveig, Laura + Steph
