TRACK CYCLING AT ITS BEST!

Located in the City of Burnaby, in British-Columbia Canada, the Burnaby Velodrome is a 200 metre wooden indoor cycling track. One of only four indoor velodromes in North America the track is covered by an air-supported roof, allowing for year-round training and racing.

BVC SUMMER YOUTH CAMPS

The BVC is offering two camps this summer for youth between the ages of 8 - 12 and 11- 16.

The first camp is called PODIUM and it's intended for youth ages 11-16 that have ridden bikes before and are comfortable in the saddle; they need not have ridden the track before. It is ideal for youth looking to cross train and gain (or sustain) aerobic fitness over the summer.

Our second camp is called PEDAL and it's intended for youth ages 8-12 that have ridden a bike before but may not be as confident in their abilities. It is ideal for youth that enjoy cycling and are excited to explore other disciplines or just like to try new things and have fun!

NEW PROGRAM COORDINATOR AND HEAD COACH APPOINTED

To meet our immediate needs club coach Kelyn Akuna's role will be changing to head coach and program co-ordinator for the remainder of our 2012/13 membership year. We have also asked Kelyn to help expand our summer programs as part of the club's continuing drive to promote track cycling throughout the year. We will be following up over the coming weeks and months with summer Intro to Track programs, new summer coached programs, special clinics, and even racing. Announcements will be forthcoming on our website and the bvc_announce mailing list (also available on our news page) - so please keep in touch.

2013 SUMMER MEMBERSHIPS NOW FOR SALE

Summer memberships are now for sale at the Burnaby Velodrome Club. As part of our continuing effort to encourage participation at the track all through the year the summer memberships are deeply discounted.

If you would like to purchase a summer membership the easiest and best way is to do so is online. Simply login to your track user account, select the membership that applies to your age bracket and purchase online with your credit card. If you have any questions about fees or licensing requirements please see the fees page.

BVC SCHEDULES EXPLAINED

The club has been rearranging our schedules regularly this past fall and this will continue through the winter. We are doing our best to keep the track as busy as possible while giving all of our user groups the opportunity to get their riding in ever week.

To help clarify the goals of the different programs and time slots we have prepared a new schedules overview section. Please check it out and don't hesitate to speak with staff and your fellow riders if you need more clarification about what is happening at the track and when it is happening.

TRACK USERS

As usual if you are riding at the track this year you must be a registered user at the track, this includes annual members and drop in riders. If you have a track user card and created an account last year there is no need to re-register. Your track user card is for life.

If you don't already have an account and card, registering for one is easy. Visit the track user login page and create an account. Once registered you must pick up your registered rider card at the track the next time you visit - speak to the track attendant. If you do not have a card you will not be allowed to ride. After registering you can also login and purchase memberships, ten session punchcard and other goodies.

With the exception of Intro to Track participants, non BC resident Canadians and non-Canadian citizen riders are required to have a valid UCI license to ride or race at the Burnaby Velodrome. BC resident Candians also have licensing requirements to ride and race at the Velodrome, see our fees page for more information.
