Membership Portal Update FAQ

BVC has moved its membership portal to Uplifter (previously CCN Cycling). This page explains what has changed and how it affects existing members.

Why the change?

BVC’s previous platform is being retired later this year, so the club needed to move to an alternative. The cost of the previous platform had also risen to more than $600 USD per month.

Why Uplifter?

BVC reviewed a number of platforms before selecting Uplifter. On the criteria that matter most to the Velodrome, Uplifter came out as the best fit. Uplifter also has plans to develop additional resources within the platform for clubs like BVC that operate their own facilities.

Where do I access the new portal?

The new membership portal is live. You can access it here: Burnaby Velodrome Club Membership Portal 2026 | Uplifter Cycling

You can sign in using your existing CCN Cycling (Cycling BC) account, or create a new user account.

What if my membership doesn’t expire until later in the year?

All memberships now expire on August 31 each year, aligning with BVC’s fiscal year end. Members who have been with the club for more than four years may recall this used to be the standard. When the roof was replaced, annual members received a three-month extension, and the Xplor platform then allowed full-year memberships to start at any point in the year.

How is BVC accommodating memberships that end later in the year?

If your membership has an expiry date that isn’t in September or early October, you should have received an email with a discount code. The code automatically adjusts the cost of your 2027 membership based on the expiry date of your current 2026 membership.

All coupons expire on October 15. You need to register and renew before that date to benefit from the coupon.

Example

A member’s annual membership expires on February 1, 2027. There are 211 days between February 1 and August 31, 2027. That member receives a discount coupon to apply at checkout in the new portal.

Do I have to renew in September even if my current membership doesn’t expire until later?

Yes. All members need to create an account with BVC in September. This is required for insurance purposes, and it also allows you to purchase race passes. Racing starts on October 2, 2026.

Should I expect any issues?

Any platform transition comes with things to work through. Please bear with the club as BVC works with the Uplifter support team and staff continue to learn the new platform.

Can I renew on the old platform?

No. All online membership purchases on the old platform have been deactivated. Try the Track and Learn to Ride can still be purchased there for a limited time.

Is there a schedule and the ability to register for sessions and events?

A simple schedule will be posted to the website shortly. Registration functionality is still being built out.
