The Burnaby Velodrome Club is pleased to offer two youth development camps between March 17-21st. Both camps are intended to focus on developing youth between the ages of 11-18 and will complement a high performance camp being hosted by Cycling Canada at the same time.
Our first camp of the week is intended for youth that have never had the chance to ride the Burnaby Velodrome. It will act as an accelerated Learn to Ride for youth that focuses on skills acquisition. The camp will end on Wednesday evening when youth have the chance to participate in a sprint tournament that will also act as a Talent ID opportunity to work with Cycling BC.
The second camp of the week is intended for more experienced youth that will not be attending the Pan-Am Trials in LA. This camp will have a stronger focus on the skill set necessary to be successful in events such as: team sprint, team pursuit, and mass start racing. The camp will end on Friday at the BVC’s Feature Friday Night Race Series event with youth participating in the evening’s mass start races.
