The Burnaby Velodrome Club runs a combination of programs throughout the year. Programs that run all year include our Junior Development program, and aboriginal youth program. We also run regular introductory courses to teach riders how to ride and race safely on the track.
One of the most common questions new riders have is what do they need to do to ride on the track. If you are an adult the answer is very simple: you must complete the Intro to Track program. For juniors (under 19) the Junior Program is a better option for getting up to speed on the track. And of course our Aborginal Youth Cycling program is another option for aboriginal youth. Junior and youth cyclists are of course welcome to take the Intro to Track program if they wish, but the dedicated junior or AYC coached programs are more suited to the younger age groups. More details about all of these programs are availabe through the links to the left.
Specialized clinics are also run throughout the year. Clinics focus on specific racing styles or track skills such as: Madison Racing, Team Pursuit or Sprinting. Clinics are usually announced on the home page and on our google group mailing list – you can monitor the mailing list, or simply sign up to receive the email announcements, on our news page.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about our programs.
